Spencer Ogden is the global market leader in recruitment for the energy sector.
The company was looking to boost its profile and maintain its position at the top of the sector as renewables took on increasing importance. They needed a B2B PR agency to plan and host an event – complete with social and online components.
The Definition team began with a brainstorm to identify the topics that mattered to stakeholders in the renewable energy industry.
It quickly became clear that one of Spencer Ogden’s greatest assets was its experts.
Noting this, various formats designed to leverage their profiles were discussed. A roundtable event was the resulting tactic: ‘The Future of Renewable Energy’ was finalised as the topic and The Guardian’s environment correspondent Fiona Harvey brought it to host.
However, an in-person event wasn’t enough – the company wanted to reach an even larger audience. The Definition team coordinated a live stream and real-time social media interaction, including soliciting questions on Twitter, and the results were outstanding.
