The awards recognise the outstanding work delivered in the sector for clients across the UK and beyond, bolstering the agency’s 60 major awards a decade since founding.
Definition struck gold for the Issues, Crisis or Reputational Management category, for maritime union client Nautilus International, whilst the prestigious Outstanding Young Communicator award was awarded to account director, Rebecca Jackson. The agency also took home silver for its internal communications campaign for Utilita Energy, Powering Utilita Energy’s Vision, Mission and Values.
Definition’s work for Nautilus International, the UK’s largest maritime trade union, impressed the judges for upholding the “seafaring industry and its members … providing some great examples of managing reputation to trade and public audiences”. The agency’s media campaign set to protect and promote the UK maritime industry, which resulted in nearly 400 pieces of coverage and questions raised in Parliament to instigate real change.
Young Communicator of the Year, Rebecca Jackson, joined Definition from The Daily Telegraph, with judges recognising a clear “commitment to her personal and professional development and to supporting the development of the team around her”, which has translated into “personal achievements, such as promotions, as well as client growth and new business success.”
Rebecca was promoted to account director at Definition after just four years and is responsible for a range of the agency’s UK and pan-European clients, including Utilita Energy, Nautilus International as well as a range of clients within the agency’s specialist health and wellness division.
Louise Vaughan, managing director at Defintion, said: “It’s an absolute delight that the team’s hard work has paid off and we’ve been recognised by the most respected awards programme in our sector.
“We always strive to deliver the best work for our clients and these award wins are testament to that ethos. We have remained steadfast to this in delivering focused campaigns, which really resonate with the public and hope that we can build on it for clients as we move into 2019.”
“Rebecca’s win was a personal highlight as she joined the team just under five years ago and has gone from strength to strength ever since, with the support of the Definition Academy training programme. She’s a true asset to the agency and industry as a whole.”
