The agency is one of just three shortlisted for the headline Outstanding Public Relations Consultancy award in addition to three client campaigns. Definition was credited for doubling turnover through strategic targeting and acquisition activity, winning 24 new clients over the last 12 months and launching a new vision, mission and values programme following its rebrand.

Additional shortlists include the Best Event category for launching Manifesto Growth Architects’ report on the membership economy and Not-for-Profit with Tall Ships Youth Trust where Definition levered influencer engagement through Duran Duran’s Simon Le Bon to promote the Trust’s work with disadvantaged children. Definition also secured a Corporate and Business Communications Campaign nomination for its work to launch a new brand for leading asbestos, remediation and demolition firm Rhodar.

Louise Vaughan, managing director at Definition, said: “The CIPR PRide Awards are one of our key industry events and to receive four nominations underlines the consistent quality of the work delivered by the team for our clients. It’s also especially rewarding to be shortlisted for the much-coveted Outstanding Public Relations Consultancy category.

“We’ve achieved so much as an agency over the last 12 months, including, launching our new brand and unifying three offices in Leeds, London and Dubai, all while sustaining our commitment to delivering outstanding campaign work and commercial creativity for our clients.

“The quality of work we’re up against never fails to amaze me and to complete at this level across multiple categories in highly diverse sectors including maritime, marketing and construction shows the breadth of expertise we possess across our team. We can’t wait for the ceremony in November!”

Definition’s 30-strong team of corporate communication and personal brand specialists includes former national and international print and broadcast journalists, as well as social media, employee and community engagement, video, content and crisis communications professionals.

The agency boasts one of the country’s most respected reputation management offerings, having won over 60 awards both in the UK and internationally, including ‘Best Issues & Reputation Management Campaign’ at the prestigious European Communications Excellence Awards three times in four years. The business has also been named Large Agency of the Year at the UK Public Sector Communications Awards three times.

The CIPR PRide Awards are the leading regional PR awards that recognise the outstanding work delivered by communications professionals and industry leaders across the country. The ceremony will be held at The Queens in Leeds on 21 November.
